HHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEY THERE.
Did you bitches think I forgot you? Feels so good to curse over here, my marketing manager, and by marketing manager I mean, JAYSEEKA, wouldn't like it if I was cursing all over on TLC. We only say "sweet" "babies" "darlings" "beautiful" "fabulous" "delightful" "sure thing" "amazing" when we are doing our bidness. So while I haven't forgotten you, I've just been in happy land using happy words talking to other happy people on blogs, on twitter, on facebook, on pinterest...anything else I'm missing. Social media connections are my life.
What is everyone doing?
My bebe is sick. Cold/Cough/temp sick. I am also sick, but I would take being sick 99,999 days longer if it meant my sweet baby girl wasn't sick. It's so sad- barely any smiles and no laughing, just cling-cling-clingy crying in mamma's arms. We did finally get her to go to and stay asleep last night from 11-5, so that was pretty good! The poor poor darlin- it's just so sad to see her non-Maggie-ish.
What else? What else? Who's ready for Dugas and Renee's wedding??? Who's ready for TLC trunk show in NOLA on Feb 11th? Who's ready for MG...we are coming :)??? So much upcoming fun, I hope I can make it through!
This is such a cop out blog post. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Don't be mad at me!

Nap Nanny Blues
Remember when Beth told me, "Don't let your child get addicted to the Nap Nanny" REMMMMMMMEMBERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Well 4 months an addict makes. We took it away on Sunday....it's not what I would classify as HORRIBLE, but I also am not gonna say we are sleeping un-interupted anymore. I'm not 100% sold it's all NN's fault....there could be outside factors at force here but I'm gonna give NN a 75% of the blame for my(+John's) 4:30am, 5am, 5:15am, and 5:30am wakeups last night. Like we need a paci back in our mouth or we will just DIIIIIIIIIIIE. Like do you cry this out? I kinda think she might be hungry too.....like she's AWAKE when you go in there, stops crying the second the door cracks, smiles when she sees you. The le leche stranger who I called on her cell phone and told my whole life story to...told me it happens at 4 months, be prepared. Like her bottle isn't getting her through the night anymore? Again, do I cry this out? I think I need to head back to my books....or is it just all NN take away? Thoughts? Advice? Rice Cereal in the bottle? (Charlotte York, my pedi, says no-she doesn't need RC)
Did I talk about NYE yet? I mean it was so fantastical- I'm doing it every year. Whoever wants to go to Galvy, I'll be there. FANTASTIC ya'll! Validation
I haven't been so high on validation life since Dahlia (Grooy 7) gave me a shout out at Vali's wedding. Speaking of...who is going to get married in 2012 and have them play at their wedding so I can keep it going? Okay okay back to my newest high! John usually drops Maggie off in the mornings at school, but with skeleton days at work I brought her since I had extra time in the morning...so Mags morning teacher tells me, "In the mornings I bring Maggie around to all the other classrooms so all the teachers can see her outfits" I'm serious. She said that. Without me prompting ANYTHING! I played it so cool, so sosoooo cool. Then I kept on smiling as I wrote a big fat check and dropped it in the payment box thinking the extra dolla bills I'm paying out for Primrose are totally worth it when teachers tell me things like that!!!! Who cares about the educational aspects! Then I called Giggy, I think she was excited for me.
Sooooooooo did ya'll have a good Christmas??? We did. A bit exhausting though, by the time we got to yesterday Mags was a pill and a half....like maybe took a total of 1.5 hrs of naps yesterday....you can guess how bedtime went. I mean she is in another wonder week range- 17 weeks- so maybe it has something to do with that? I do LOVE the fact that when she acts like a pill I can type in "BLANK wonder week" and someone on google is going to tell me its natural for my child to be a pill in BLANK week. The Internet is such a rewarding place for mothers. I do think she loved Christmas, I could tell how her eyes lit up every time she opened a new present, and how she just can't stop playing with her favorite toys. She truly knows the meaning of Christmas ya'll- I heard her telling John that she just got WAY too much this year and that she should bring some of her toys to those less fortunate.
I would love to send ya'll pictures of my child enjoying Christmas but my BRAND NEW LAPTOP that Santa got me is already dead. Like as in the screen is shattered- I'll spare you the details, hopefully the Geek Squad gets it back to me real real real real soon. I mean I had such high hopes of downloading all my pics and sorting them and sending them out- and making my laptop all Little Crane bizness ready set lets go. And EEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKK no. Like I couldn't go to sleep on Christmas Eve because I was SOOOO excited about my new laptop. C'est le vie!
I also couldn't sleep because I knew I was getting Tory Burch ballet flats. And they are JUST as fun and exciting as I'd hoped for. It was accidentally the first gift I opened. I'm sending my husband an "Ideas for Christmas" list every year- so fantastical! Hold on...let me look at my feet again....oh still super cute. I know ppl's been loving on these for years but now that I decided I needed to be cool like that I am so so sosoooooooooooo glad I did! I heard through the Christmas grapevine some other ppl are as cool as me this Christmas too. Muuuuuuahahahhahahhahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh So now what do I want that I would never buy myself????
And when are teh 2011 BOB's going on SALE!!!!!!!!!! I've been hoarding Babies R Us gift cards for months and months and MONTHS!

Christmas Eve, Eve
I am at work right now! This is what happens when you take 3.5 months off and your maternity leave ends in December...you have to work on days like this. My eyes are bleeding out of boredom, I can only super-stalk TLC's facebook page, twitter acct, ebay and blog so many times in a row.
I'm not sure anyone in my world takes Westheimer to get on the Beltway to get on Westpark Tollway Eastbound. Ya'll. It's frog. You know or Cars. Whatever that game was called on your gaming system/first generation apple computer when the apple was rainbow colored. Like when you got a computer game, and to play it you pulled it out of the disc case and inserted it and waited for it to boot up and then you plugged your joystick (JOYSTICK!) into the computer where the mouse was...like you couldn't use both at one time. Okay- back to the interstate. You literally (and I MEAN LITERALLY) have 1/4 mile to get over 4 lanes on the beltway to a left exit for Westpark. Every one's driving 99 miles an hour on the beltway at 7am and they don't care that you have to play frog to get over...it's the biggest adrenaline rush every morning..sometimes I think I go that way for the rush. And you know what, I've missed it before, like I've had to circle back, sometimes you don't always win at frog.
I'm still not done Xmas shopping...I really really really need someone to tell me I can leave work right now and go fall into the gap for a quick second. Then I might take myself to Kohl's. Do ya'll remember Mervyn's...every time I go to Kohl's I'm brought back to my childhood...my Mom LOOOOOOOOOOVED her some Mervyn's. LOVED IT. I can still see the layout of the store in Bakersfield in my head. Ahhhhhh. (PS- Mervyn's is a very weird word to type out)
Jack's got Mags today. Ha. I know they are surviving, but I hope she's being a sweet darlin like I told her to be. They are going to drive to Kemah to get shrimp for Christmas Eve dinner so hopefully she is participating by sleeping in the car..and then engineer doesn't have any mechanical issues with the stroller!
A friend of a friend had a full term stillborn baby earlier this week. Amanda called me this morning to tell me about it...I can't wrap my mind around this. I spent the last 2 months of my pregnancy PETRIFIED this was going to happen, because it had happened to my Mom. I tried to push it back to the deepest corner of my mind and I tried not to talk about it outloud but it was there. I can't imagine the pain this girl and her husband must feel right now. I know my own Mother didn't tell me about it until close to 15 years after it happened...15 years...from someone that went on to have 3 healthy children...I can't fathom. And it's Christmas...forever. Make sure you give your little bebe's an extra hug today. When I hear things like this, I wish my Mom was here...she'd tell me to tell the girl to call her or get her email..or email Amanda with what to say. And she'd tell her something that we don't even know- something that would never be shared with us- she was really good at that. Secret knowledge pulled out at just the right moment.

Monday Monday
Monday's come really really fast when you aren't on Maternity leave. Just saying.
This weekend I got the pleasure of going Christmas shopping with Jack for his debut year. He was so good ya'll- so good until we hit Toys R Us and it was just wrong in there in SO MANY ways. Back to his goodness though, I'm so proud of him- jolly Christmas shopper. His tree, his house, all my mom's Christmas decorations scattered throughout. I'm just so sososoooo proud of him right now. He even has Maggie's artwork hanging in the windows. It feels good. Now my house, that is another story- I'm just gonna leave it at that. We'll pick back up next year- umm K?
I've got other things to worry about...The Little Crane, or just TLC from here on out. I'm OBBBBBBBSSSSSESSSSSSSSSSSSED with it. I am really good at keeping it under wraps because if you knew how obsessive I was you'd have me committed. I have also decided I LOVE to be obssessed with things- I just jump from thing to thing to thing to focus all my energy on...do I come across like this? Obsessive Compulsive? You know how there are things about yourself that you never realized and like everyone knows and you just don't...is this one of them? Back to TLC, I'm obssessed and I'm obssessed mostly with why everyone else isn't obssessed?
Obviously I'm also obssessed with Maggie. I seriously think she is the cutest thing that has ever landed on this earth. I mean I know all mother's think this of their children, but like she's cuter. Everything she does is the cutest thing- I sound like one of "those" people. I know I do, and I don't care. I really don't know how I produced something so beautiful- when I look at a picture of her, I just stare stare stare for like 10 min because I really can't believe it. John and I are no where near as cute as that child- I don't get it.
Donny turned 59 this weekend and went ahead and threw himself a party at Zydeco night at Jax. I mean I couldn't hear anyone to have a convo the whole night but who cares. Don was is heaven being a party planner...???right???...Laine was dancing like her life depended on it, Livy just ate everything she could, for some reason Mags was loving every second of it, except for the seconds where I tried to get her to go to sleep, John was high on life, Marla was high on life, Jack was semi-high on life but still tired from his first real shopping trip in 60 years, Laurie was high on babies and Jessica and I were just silently obsessing over TLC. I mean it might have been Don's best birthday ever!
I feel like I've got nothing good to say...not sure why? Oh because I'm just obsessing over TLC.

Me likey
I just found this on pinterest. I mean I don't normally gravitate towards the quote type things on there but I really really really liked this one for many many many reasons.

Also, raise your hand if you wish the Dixie Chicks had a holiday albumn!!???? I mean do they and I don't know??? Nothing comes up on Pandora...but if you type in Jessica Simpson Holiday Radio you get one banging station for yourself.
Since we don't get to dress up for our Christmas party this year, I'm putting all my thoughts, crafting, designing and desires into Annie's Minnie Mouse birthday party. Just you wait. Did you know the twins say "Minnie" in the cutest possible way. It might replace "Fishies" as the cutest thing they say in my mind. I mean they all sorts of things and then even more that Jessica decifiers and I can't- but like "Minnie" in 20 month old voices warms my heart like nothing right now.
And in the spirit of behind-the-scenes....I'm not into Christmas at all. I have no desires at this moment to get a tree, I don't want to decorate, I don't want to drag the shit out. I'm not excited about buying or getting presents and I mean I LOOOOOOOVEEEEEEEEEEEE buying, wrapping and of course getting Christmas presents. Christmas in our house (like I'm sure many houses) was like the high high highlight of the year and I just can't shake it. How the fuck are we going to have Christmas without my Mom there. I feel like in someway I'm stalling myself from arriving at it because I don't really want to experience it without her because it's going to painful. I'd rather just stay in my state of over-scheduling distraction. Like its going to be sooo sooooooo real to wake up Christmas morning without my Mother.
I really hope Jessica Simpson Christmas can get me in the mood! I mean it's Mags 1st Christmas!!!!!!!
And other than that I'm still high on life working. I had a Komen meeting last night and I couldn't get enough- like I must have told 10 ppl that I liked being at work. Another girl in the group had a little girl at the end of October and this was her first more than 1hr segment away from the baby- she had three glasses of wine like she had gotten out of jail. She's retired/investment banker husband/volunteers for basically every group in Houston probably accumulating 40hrs a week doing that- she told me she's done with her maternity leave from retirement. ha. Made me laugh! She also said her baby doesn't sleep past 2-3hr chunks at night. I told her go read babywise...she didn't know, she didn't know about it. There are groups of people out there that don't know, no one has told them!!!!!!
And I wore maternity pants to work yesterday and I'm doing it again today. Can someone please post that they did the same thing. Thanks.
