Dentista

Ya'll- I went to the dentist on Saturday. I know this seems normal, but in my life responsible-type doctor-type appointments are soooooooooooooo far from the norm. That's why I married a person that gets responsible things done.....because I like to drag my feet. (I know someone else in this mold, but I'll just keep her from under the bus) Like register alarm permits, city of Houston dog tags, hospital bills, parking tickets...ya dig. I had been promising John I'd go to the dentist for a LOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNGGGGGG time, like as in he said we couldn't get married until I did. But you know, that didn't happen. So he made me an appointment at the same time as his, so I just did it. It was so liberating and it was even better that I was pregnant and they couldn't really do anything other than clean my teeth and tell me that I need a filling fixed and have one other cavity. I mean I liked it. ha. I felt so empowered when I left, like I had rejoined one more sector of responsibility that I had been away from for so very long! Also I told them I hadn't been in 7 years, for some reason this seemed like forgivable in my mind...ya'll can add like 3 to that if you want the truth!!! Okay okay okay add 5 to it.

Did I mention I'm going to FLLLLLLLLLLLLORRRIDAAAAAAAAAAAA this weekend! With Bethey and Jen and hopefully thinning cervix Julie! To visit Stacy and Reid and lay on the beach and drink fake margs all weekend, and read books and magazines and be silly and eat too much! I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!!! Please please please please please hurry up Friday!!!!

I re-did our family budget yesterday, like pretending we had a car note and daycare because I mean that's what's about to happen. Which means come April 15th paycheck I'm on an allowance- ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and a $300 a month clothes budget ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Okay. I can totally do this! Right! YES I CAN! It's what people do- GOI Sarah. Done. I might need to un-subscribe to Zulily.

Also, John calls the baby Maggie all the time. Which is making me do the same thing- should I just get over this and stop putting up this silly thing that I have?

Just when..........

I don't like to spend too much time complaining about work, it's just mostly pointless for me to do. But today has been 100% shhhhhhhhhhhhittttttttttttttay. Just overloaded, no one listening, more work piling on, no patience from managers type of day. When I leave at 5, it will all wash away but in the meantime it's just been an overall no good very bad work day.

Just when I'm about to throw my hands up and scream, I get this email:

Hey Sarah!

I hope all is well! I have good news. I submitted your wedding to the Style Me Pretty blog  - http://www.stylemepretty.com/ and they'd very much so like to feature it! How cool is that! I'm excited!  It's marked in for Friday June 3rd!

They would like me to write up something about your wedding and they are asking me to ask you the below questions. Do you mind if you have time?  Of course I'll run the article and all the photos and the photos by you before it's published.

Thanks so much!
Sandra

And I fell out of my seat and died because all my dreams have now come true. ALLLLLLL OF THEMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. They never involved true love, or happiness or joy or friends and family, or two becomign one, they only ever involved ME AND STYLE ME PRETTY. I can't believe my life goals are completely in sync at this point. Ahhhhhhhhhh sweet honeysuckle validation feels soooo good right now. Who can I call other than Jessica and Julie who will really understand the sheer amount of excitement I feel inside of me that is bursting to be screamed from the roof tops! Maybe Val, maybe Jaime they are in the throws of wedding planning. WHO ELSE WANTS TO KNOW this! (I was joking about the first part, it was about love and joy and friends and family, etc etc and ETC) PS- Sandra is my photographer- she's 100% the opposite of me in all ways, I'm sure my response that started with SHUT UP! YOU MADE MY LIFE! took her back a bit.

Also, I have self-diagnosed myself with braxton hicks at this point. Like from the hours of 7:30-10:00 daily. I'm so glad I made this diagnosis so I no longer think I'm going into pre-term labor daily. Water drinking and a long loop around the 1st floor make them subside- just saying.

GIRRRRRRLZZZZZZZZZZZZ

It's a GIRL! Duh, we knew that all along right? Girl Girl Girl, I mean they can't stop coming!!!!! Our ultrasound was a little eventful, thanks to a blurry machine, a tight lipped tech and well just the fact that I'm waiting for the inevitable ball to drop. In the end, everything looked good- and I get to go back in 4 weeks for another one so they can get some better shots of the heart and brain. I'm sure the blood pressure will skyrocket again as we near this date- but for now, I'm good! And excited and spending all my money on little bebe girl clothes! Oh- this also resulted in no pictures for me, which turned into a breakdown in the parking lot because she didn't give me any pictures because my baby wasn't viable, etc. I mean ya'll are so lucky you just get the edges/end results here on the blog!!!! And that sweet babe girl had her ankles crossed and I want the picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the past 10 weeks I've been saying I feel great, and I don't even remember I'm pregnant and blah blah blah, this has definitely ended! My energy level is so low it is insane- every activity requires me sitting on the couch for 20 min afterwards! And the stretching and peeing and well all the fun! RIiiiiiiiiiiiight. Nothing is bad, its just very noticeable to me, I guess I really didn't expect to feel so slowed down, and it's hard for me to reconcile to this. Even though I give Julie a bi-weekly speech on it. MAYBE I should listen to my own preaching!

Annnnnnnnnnyways. Zulily, I mean serious. TROUBLE TROUBLE TROUBLE. I have a really really soft spot in my heart for smocked dresses and they just throw them up there with the original price and the sale price and I mean I'm saving 50%! I am leaving a bulk of the clothes buying up to Anne though, she already has my child dressed through age 2. Also the stroller I wanted was on sale and you got a free infant seat with it if you ordered before a certain date- so my Mom and Dad ordered it for us, and I was fine with it since it was on backorder for like 2 months or so. WEeeeeeeeelllllllllllll it showed up at our house and of course I put it all together and wheeled pipey around in it. I mean its feels a little silly when I see it all ready to go in the nursery room, but I'm just ignoring the feeling. Like if someone at 20 weeks posted their stroller on facebook all set up, I'd probably email like 10 people and say- OMG get over yourself. Soooooo don't tell anyone.

Last baby note, I had so many great plans for boy nursery's that now I need to change my tune. As we speak its Lilac, Grey and White. And of course the bedding I want is from Restoration Hardware, nothing like shooting for the moon! I'm sure I'll make an inspiration board or 50 and attach them and ya'll can tell me how great it's gonna look! Is it August? PLEASE!

Ya'll need to get really excited in the meantime though because my landscaping is coming this week and next week! The greatness about John's job is getting next to nothing priced plants, but you have to wait until a big order to add what you want onto. Wellllllll it's coming! I'm so excited, I'm so excited! I can't wait to get garden of the month from those B's on the corner that just grow ivy and throw wildflower seed in their beds!!! CAN NOT WAIT! Also, my peonies are growing and John promised me Hydrangea's this week in the plant order- we are gonna try them in pots this time in the courtyard- I think there was just too much direct sun on the front of the house for them. Okay okay okay okay okay! Oh also, my bedroom furniture is in and half put together- ok ok ok ok pictures are coming!

This blog is getting long- but my Mom is at MDA this week, cross your fingers this drug combo does something good and gives her some type of good outlook, it's getting a wee bit hard to remain 10000% positive outlook with this these days. Thank goodness for babies in utero!!!

It's the Freaking Weekend Baby

John likes to say, "It's almost the weekend!" on like Wed night/Thur Morn. Ummm no. I don't even like to hear that word until Friday on the way to work, I love all the gusto I've saved up for when I walk through those doors Friday morning a little on the late side and just knowing I'm soooo close to the freedom!

I was also extremely sensitive about speaking of the weekend this week because my BIG ultrasound is Tuesday- I secretly love how people call is "BIG ultrasound" anyways, Tuesday. I'm trying sooooooooo very hard to keep all my irrational thoughts in check so as to not drive my loved ones in the dark places my mind likes to reside sometimes. I'm trying, I'm trying Giggy, and my mother who already got a dose! Don't get me wrong I'm 10000% excited too, like I used to just know the babe was a girl- no matter what, like if you tell me it's a boy, I'm gonna tell you to re-check yourself. But now I don't know- I guess I stick with my original feelings?

I also cut my hair off! Like above shoulder's but like touching. Plus its extra summer blond and it just feels so good and fresh and alive. When I walked in this morning one of the chickens said, "You cut your hair off! Why did you do that?" Who says that? If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all! Doesn't she know I'm pregnant/on the edge of tears 80% of the time! WHO DOESSSSSSSSSSSS THAT? I told her it needed to be cut, she said I would kill for your long hair I could do anything with long thick blond hair. So you know what I told her- the grass is always gonna be greener. And I walked away and now I'm not talking to her anymore. On Tuesday when she asks me what my bebe is, I'm going to tell her- wouldn't you like to know! Also does she think my hair is really this color blond- ha. DONE.

But on the real it's the weekend and the twinkies are turning ONE! (My brother told me don't call them the twinkies, because I don't know what it means) whatever they are impermeable to hatred slang, so I'm still calling them the twinkies. Unless of course their motha tells me not too. Did I tell you I went to Nola last weekend and wanted to move there with all the yat tastic talk around me. Yattty tattttty snoballs and parades. Wishes and Dreams ppl, wishes and dreams.

ALLLLLLLLLSO I stood on the scale this morning and I am 2 pds down from my initial preg weigh in (I know this isn't a diet, promise) if that is the same on Tuesday and Tracey Samuel's doesn't give me a damn certificate I'm going to go baaaazerk. I could be being sooooooooo bad and I'm not, I'm being sooooooooooooooooooooooo good portion control healthy food monster and I need the credit to fuel the fire!

Happppppppppppppy Friday my people! HAPPPPPPPPPPY FRRRIDAY!

Iodine/RR/Aural/SB2K11

I have spent 30 years of my life not concerned about iodine. I have been worried for the past year or so that people are no longer getting enough iodine because everyone has started using "sea salt" it's such a trend maker- foodies rejoice! Sea Salt! It's here! Anyways, no iodine, and I mean they put iodine in regular old salt so we'd get enough. I can't tell you my worry about this. It's like my 10 year old worry about fish- which if you research it just a teeny tiny bit, seems I was totally on point- we over fish, Done. I mean we exploit 99.9% of everything so betting on the fish wasn't THAT hard, but I'm just saying, I was saying way ahead of my time about the fish and now I'm screaming about iodine.

So while in the midst of the tragedy in Japan. SIDENOTE: I use the word tragedy (singular) on purpose because it's 100000000% connected, everything that has happened is all connected to each other- they didn't randomly have 3 earthquakes, a tsunami and nuclear power plant explosions as isolated incidents occurring at the same time.- despite what the Chickens think. And please don't think I'm not sympathetic but this is like believing the flooding of new Orleans had nothing to do with the hurricane. I digress. So tradegy in Japan, all the California ladies on my August 2011 baby board are taking iodine pills in case the fallout from the nuclear explosions reaches California. SERIOUSLY? Anyone? Like scrambling for those iodine pills like your high-risk preg and its the breakout of the swine flu. Shut your mouth. Like I wonder what too much iodine can do to someone, but I'm sure they are all eating sea salt anyways and not getting enough iodine to begin with!

I've also been meaning to talk about when Bethany met RR. Does anyone else think RR was like Get over yourself Bethany? It rubbed me wrong. I have always been a RR champion, she made America cook again! Eat dinner together again! Raspy voices Sexxxxalllll-la-lady again! Especially after she got on Iron Chef and was like, "I'm not a chef, I'm a cook, big difference", I loved it, A cook! What a wonderful thing to be Nora Walker.  But then she goes and acts like she is over Bethany on her own show...I just didn't like the feeling I got when I saw that part.

Also, John and I think the Warblers should have won Regionals. And why does New Directions always wear bridesmaid dresses to perform? Did I miss something? Also did you notice Aural Intensity is not Oral Intensity? Like play on a mother Fing word LLLLLLLLLLLLOVE IT. LOOOOOOOVE it.

I also wish this week would never end! I love Spring Break, I love Christmas Break, I love SUMMER! 17 min drives to work are FANNNNNTABULOUS. I know at least someone out there is screaming the same thing as me!!

Gweeeeeeeeenie AGAIN

Like is Gwenie going to be a recurring character? PLEASE please please, I need to go back and check my gossip tv blogs- like the one that used to tell me what was going to happen on Grey's a week ahead of time when my life revovled around what was going to happen on Grey's- which it no longer does in any form. WEIRD!

I have established a new trend. It exculsivly involves hair combs, they are so versitile- I started the trend on Friday night and have used them in my hair 4 days since then. Ya'll- go buy some. Your gonna love them, if you want some pointers, just holla- you have no idea the good things that are about to come to you! I even watched RHOOC and Tamara had them in her hair, I mean after I started my trend- but I'm just saying. This is just as epic as Jessica discovering bangles in 2003/04? before they hit the mainstream and you know where that trend has gone!

I woke up on the WRONG side of the bed this morning and continued on my beastly ways until I got Jen on the phone on the way to work. I had to call my husband and appologize for my behavoir. Thank goodness he has patience with Sarah in the morning. Most of the beast behavoir stemmed from the lack of clothing I have to wear at this moment. I know I need to go shopping and find some staples to wear to work, but everything is ugly, rayon, ugly, tent-like, cotton tshirt, or ugly. I can't wear cotton summer dresses with no shape to work its inappropro. Anyone found the mecca of business casual maternity work clothes that don't cost $80-$100 a pop? Am I just going to have to buy them? Am I just going to have to order every shirt gap puts out?

Charlie & Bill

Ya'll- Charlie Sheen! I can't stop watching/listening to this train wreck. It doesn't help that he is in fact smart and hilarious so everything out of his mouth is a golden nugget but geeeze. Someone come save him??? Emilio??

The other man I'm terribly worried about right now is Bill Hendrickson- how in the heck is HBO gonna tie this thing up in a pretty little package in just 3 more episodes? Why couldn't he just have sat at his house with his wives and kids and been happy with Home Plus? Oh Bill Bill Billy Bill. Cake and eat it too isn't working!!!!

I had a Dr's appt- I like these sooo much better when they come with ultrasounds- but my favorite part is the doppler when they say- "Did you hear that, the baby just kicked the doppler" "Do you hear that heartbeat- that's yours!" "Do you hear the baby, ooopps another movement!" I'm sorry I don't hear shit- like it all sounds like waves to me! I guess I get the baby heartbeat part but I mean only kinda- but I just smile and laugh along with the nurse like I'm in the club. I hope this doesn't mean I'm a bad mother, I think I'm supposed to be crying when I hear horses galloping knowing that is my baby's heart just beating away. Also my bebe's heart was 155 bpm- GIRL. Another sign. Although in my dreams the last couple nights the bebe has been a boy, only 4 more weeks until we know!

I'm about to be back to my old self and going out of town 2 of the next 3 weekends, thank goodness. I was kinda getting house stir crazy? Like how many times can you try and find a movie on demand that you and your husband will agree on while googling city select stroller wondering if it's the worst decision in America to buy the uber-on-sale one in diamond white?

It is also budget time at work, but this year I have decided to stay ahead of the game, so I don't have too many 9'oclock nights- I know budget time means nothing to you commoners but it basically entails creatively reporting numbers so that they don't look as bad to Doctor's that don't understand numbers and then figuring out how to balance deficits, which in this case, if you've been watching the news in Texas (rich state???) are huge. My boss is retiring in 4 years, they like to remind me of this every budget and re-budget process each year, like a countdown hanging over my head- you have 4 years until you are on the front lines! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh scary. I'm going to focus on having 3-4 babies in that time span and worry later- why would I change my game now!

Also, I'll be 31 in a week and I don't give a shit what-so-ever. I LOOOOOOOOOOVE being in the 30's. No waiting to turn 30, no one cares! I'm sure this will work until about 38 when I move into the waiting to turn 40 category- but again, I'm not gonna worry abotu that now- I'm just gonna watch everyone I know 27-29 squirm because they are worried about the dirty thrity. ha. Plus I'm going to make fun of them. HA. 30, LOSERS.
